IKA® Vortex 1 Variable Speed Test Tube Shaker, 4047700

The IKA Vortex 1 is a compact, robustly built test tube shaker engineered for rapidly mixing the contents of individual tubes and small vessels. Its coated zinc die-cast base gives the unit a low centre of gravity and steady footing, while the inert plastic top and tube cup resist chemical attack during everyday laboratory use.

Speed is infinitely adjustable across a 1000 to 2800 rpm range, letting you dial in anything from a gentle swirl to a vigorous vortex. A touch-start function spins the sample only while the tube is pressed against the cup, making it well suited to quick resuspension of pellets and routine sample homogenisation. The unit accepts containers up to 30 mm in diameter, such as test tubes, centrifuge tubes and small beakers.
